Real Madrid, Chelsea y Manchester City, tres de los cuatro semifinalistas de la presente edición de la Champions, podrían ser excluidos de la competición el próximo viernes debido a su condición de miembros fundadores de la Superliga Europea. Eso es lo que entiende de las palabras del danés Jesper Moller, miembro del comité ejecutivo de la UEFA y presidente de la federación danesa de fútbol, en la emisora DR.
“Es probable que los clubes de la Superliga Real Madrid, Manchester City y Chelsea sean excluidos de las semifinales de la Liga de Campeones de esta temporada”, aseveró Moller. “Los clubes deben irse, y espero que eso suceda el viernes. Entonces tenemos que averiguar cómo terminar el torneo de la Liga de Campeones (de esta temporada)”, dijo Moller, quien es el director de la Federación Danesa.
“Hay una reunión extraordinaria del comité ejecutivo el viernes”, dijo. Los comentarios de Moller se produjeron poco después de que el presidente de la UEFA, Aleksander Ceferin, dijera que quería que se impongan prohibiciones a los clubes rebeldes.
“Todavía lo estamos evaluando con nuestro equipo legal, pero tomaremos todas las sanciones que podamos y les informaremos lo antes posible”, dijo. “Mi opinión es que tan pronto como sea posible tienen que ser expulsados de todas nuestras competiciones y los jugadores de todas nuestras competiciones”, dijo Ceferin a los periodistas.
El trío forma parte de los 12 clubes que anunciaron el domingo que estaban organizando una Superliga europea separatista como rival de la Liga de Campeones de la UEFA. El Real Madrid se enfrentará al Chelsea y el Manchester City se enfrentará al Paris St Germain, que no se ha inscrito en la liga separatista.
