Suecia y Polonia se enfrentarán este miércoles, a las 17:00, en el Gazprom Arena, en San Petersburgo, Rusia, en un partido por la tercera y última ronda de la fase de grupos del Campeonato de Europa. El equipo escandinavo es líder del grupo E, con cuatro puntos, mientras que los polacos están en la última posición, con solo uno. Suecia comenzó la competición con un empate 0-0 contra España, tras haber vencido a Eslovaquia 1-0 en la segunda ronda; Polonia, dirigida por el técnico portugués Paulo Sousa, perdió en su debut ante los eslovacos, por 1-2, y este sábado empató 1-1 con España.

Suecia puede incluso terminar la ronda y la fase de grupos en tercera posición, si pierde y si hay un ganador en el choque entre Eslovaquia y España, pero incluso en este escenario debería llegar a la clasificación para los octavos de final de la competición. Las cuentas de Polonia son bastante simples: el equipo de Paulo Sousa debería estar en la siguiente fase de la competencia si gana este partido contra los suecos en San Petersburgo, ya que sumarán cuatro puntos y tendrán una ventaja en el enfrentamiento directo con los escandinavos. Pero el equipo del Este solo podrá pensar en este escenario si gana el partido de este miércoles.

Paulo Sousa fue contratado para darle un juego más estéticamente atractivo a la selección polaca y contra España ya se podía ver cierta evolución en el Este, tras un revuelto partido inaugural, ante Eslovaquia, con una expulsión al inicio del segunda mitad. Los polacos intentarán ahora continuar con su buena actuación ante los españoles, pero por delante tendrán una Suecia muy sólida, muy organizada en el capítulo defensivo y que cuenta con un excelente Alexander Isak, el joven delantero de la Real Sociedad, al frente. Un juego a seguir con atención.
