Está tranquilo, confía en el grupo y cree que se ganará a Eslovaquia para estar en octavos. Luis Enrique Martínez, seleccionador nacional, ha comparecido ante los micrófonos de "Deportes Cuatro" para analizar la actualidad del combinado nacional y ha dejado bastantes titulares jugosos. Al preguntarle si dimitiría si España pierde ante los eslovacos y queda fuera de esta Eurocopa, el asturiano ha respondido: "¿Dimitir? ¿Estás de broma?... Si estoy pensando en renovar, imagínate", ha comentado. 'Lucho' se siente optimista con el grupo: "Luis Enrique nació optimista y morirá optimista"

Sobre cómo está la selección, el asturiano ha asegurado: "Estamos muy bien y preparados, sí que podemos fallar, es una de las posibilidades, espero que no". Acerca de si hace autocrítica sobre los dos primeros choques, Luis Enrique ha comentado:"Sin ninguna duda dos partidos en los que hemos sido mucho mejors que el rival y nos ha flatado la guinda del gol"

Respecto a si habrá cambios ante Eslovaquia, el asturiano ha comentado: "Cualquiera de los 24 está mas que capacitados para conseguir la primera victoria. ¿Habrá muchos cambios ante Eslovaquia? Pues puede ser que sí y puede ser que no". Sobre el potencial del rival, ha explicado que Eslovaquia será difícil: "Les vale el empate, espero que podamos abrir la lata lo antes posible y va a ser complicado"

Acerca de las palabras de Rafael Van der Vaart, comentarista de la cadena "NOS" diciendo que España "es horrible, no tiene nada y ojalá juguemos contra ellos", el seleccionador nacional ha tenido una respuesta contundente: "Indiferencia"

Por último, acerca de la posibilidad de estar en octavos y el hecho de pasar primeros, segundos o terceros, ha sido explícito: "En la situación que estamos, con pasar me conformo"
