Liverpool want Mohamed Salah to stay at the club despite his touchline row with manager Jurgen Klopp, according to reports.

The Egyptian forward had a heated argument with Klopp during the second half of Liverpool's 2-2 draw with West Ham at the weekend after being left on the bench. Salah was held back by his team-mates as he went back-and-forth with the German while coming on as a substitute in the final minute.

He later refused to make any comments, stating there would be "fire" if he explained what had happened. With Klopp set to leave at the end of the season, speculation surrounding Salah's potential exit has only increased, having received strong interest from the Saudi Pro league last summer.

Yet a report from The Athletic revealed that Liverpool have no intention of selling Salah, who has not yet expressed any plans to leave either. The ex-Chelsea and AS Roma player still has one year left on his three-year agreement signed in 2022.

The report states that the belief among Saudi admirers is that Salah prefers to stay in the Premier League, reports the Mirror. The Reds turned down a mammoth bid of £150 million, including add-ons, from Saudi champions Al-Ittihad for Salah last September on deadline day.

It remains to be seen whether any Saudi Pro League clubs will still pursue Salah in the next few months, especially with no fresh news regarding a contract renewal.

After Salah's headline-grabbing spat with Klopp recently, some pundits were convinced he would be off in the next transfer window. But others, like Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, have downplayed the bust-up.

The Sky Sports pundit and commentator said: "Mo Salah and Jurgen Klopp are both @LFC legends. We don't need to take sides! Salah is frustrated and angry with Jurgen that he's not playing and at that moment didn't want to fully embrace the boss, Jurgen understandably took exception.

"Mo was daft with his comment in the mixed zone but let's let them sort it out and enjoy the last few weeks together. They've been a massive help to each other in all that's been achieved at the club!”
